Mission Statement
"To support children, teens, and adults who are at risk or have disabilities to fully participate in their communities."
Message from the Executive Director
Sometimes opportunities strike when we least expect them. This has happened to the Alliance for Community Supports, Inc., and to me.
I have decided to move to Greensboro, North Carolina. My last day as Executive Director will be on August 11, 2006.
While it is sad to step away from the reins of the Alliance for Community Supports, Inc., it is also a great opportunity for the company I co-founded to be reenergized by new management. As co founder of ACS I am excited to know my company has the opportunity to explore new enterprises and fresh ideas.
Under my leadership, The Alliance for Community Supports, Inc. has built a strong foundation and solid reputation for programs that understand the voice of youth and families. RENEW, Youth Leadership, APEX Drop Out Prevention, Transition Training and our Prevention programs all are successful and continue to take giant steps in helping youth and young adults become successful in their communities. These programs have experienced and dedicated staff. All programs will continue uninterrupted.
Linda Thomas, the ACS Board of Director Vice President will act as Executive Director until my successor is found. Kathleen Abate will oversee all programming. Kathleen will also be the ACS APEX II Co- Director. Both of these professionals have years of experience in the fields of youth and families. They are well respected in our professional community. I welcome them to the ACS family. I leave ACS in the best of hands to continue to put youth voice and community needs first. ACS will always support children, teens, and adults who are at risk or have disabilities to fully participate in their communities.
It has been my pleasure to work with all of you. It has been a great honor to be the first Executive Director of the Alliance for Community Supports, Inc.
Whether we live in Ayer, Massachusetts, Knoxville, Tennessee, or Greensboro, North Carolina; my family will always call New Hampshire home. Feel free to email me at gailacs@hotmail.com and let me know what is new with you.
I wish you all well.
Sincerely,
Gail M. Cormier
